CLOCK CONTROLLERS
We manufacture a range of controllers for our clock motors to automate timekeeping, power failure correction and seasonal time changes such as CET/CEST in Europe.
Please see the table below to decide what system to use in your project.
If your project is residential and you want to save costs, then the clocks can be adjusted simply by fitting a switch at ground level and using this to start and stop the clock accordingly. If you suffer from frequent power cuts and decide some automation is required at a later date, our automatic clock controller can be added afterwards, however GPS control must be specified at the time of order as it requires different clock mechanisms.
All our controllers can be set to operate anywhere in the world and have straightforward user friendly controls and on screen menus.
We use GPS satellite control rather than radio control as it is more reliable and works worldwide. Radio signals can be affected by adjacent buildings and regional variations whereas GPS gets its signal globally and is more reliable.
Our AUTOMATIC CLOCK CONTROLLER (RESYNCRONISER) is the usual choice for residential applications. Following any power failures the clocks will stop but the controller will then automatically restart them at the correct time. It will also adjust for seasonal time changes (e.g. summer/winter time) bu stopping the clock for 1 hour to move the clock back or 11 hours to move the clock forward.
Our GPS Masterclock is the usual choice for public clocks and ensures complete accuracy by sending a signal to the clock motor each minute to advance the time. Sensors in the motor detect when the mechanism has moved on by one minute. Following power failures and time changes the unit can speed up these signals to advance the clock to the correct time meaning that the time is corrected as quickly as possible. For example a 15 minute power failure would be corrected within 60 seconds of the power coming back on.
Our DIGITAL BELL SYSTEM incorporates all the features of the GPS Masterclock along with an MP3 decoder which stores the sound of bronze bells, a power amplifier and additional options within the user menus to select hour strikes, quarters, half hour strikes and Westminster chimes as well as night silencing and adjustable volume. The controller is supplied as a wall mounted unit with an antennae and a 30 Watt speaker, plus a signal lead for the clock motor if required. A high power 120 Watt unit with multiple speakers can also be supplied for commercial projects and churches.
We also produce a BELL HAMMER CONTROLLER which uses the same GPS masterclock and includes an output to operate an electric bell hammer, and options to control the strike speed and timing as well as night silencing. For more complex bell installations we can supply bell controllers with numerous options for ringing and striking multiple bells. Please see our Bells & Hammers page on the links above.
The units are supplied with dedicated plugs so can be installed easily in residential applications without the need for an electrician. If there are any issues with the units they can easily be returned for repair or re-programming.
